  1. The Norton pcANYWHERE can be used in conjunction with Desqview either
  2. to allow a remote user to control the Desqview environment, or to
  3. allow control of one Desqview session.  This document outlines the
  4. steps necessary to set up either configuration.

  6. Control of the Desqview Environment:
  7.  
  8. The Desqview environment requires the following minor modifications in
  9. order for The Norton pcANYWHERE to work properly:
  10.  
  11. 1.      Run the Desqview Installation program.
  12.     
  13.     A.      From the Advanced Setup Menu, choose Keyboard (K), set
  14.         Maintain separate shift states for each window to Yes,
  15.         and press [Enter].
  16.     B.      Choose Video (V), and set Do you want text & graphics
  17.         displayed at the same time? to Yes, and then press [Enter].
  18.     C.      Continue installation normally.

  20. 2.      For each program configured under Desqview, the Virtualize Text &
  21.     Graphics parameter must be set to NO.

  23. Control of One Desqview Session:

  25. The Desqview environment requires the following minor modifications in
  26. order for The Norton pcANYWHERE to work properly:
  27.  
  28.     1.      Same as Step 1 above.
  29.     2.      Run Desqview (type DV at the DOS prompt).
  30.     3.      In Desqview:
  31.  
  32.         A.      Choose Open Window.
  33.         B.      Choose Add a Program, and then press 'O' for Other.
  34.         C.      Enter the full path to the AWHOST program, and
  35.             press [Enter].
  36.         D.      On the Parameters line, type -M=W.      
  37.         E.      The normal defaults are fine for pcANYWHERE, verify
  38.             that the Virtualize text/graphics option set to Yes,
  39.             and set all other parameters as required by the
  40.             application that will be controlled.
  41.         F.      Press [F1] to go to the Advanced Options screen.
  42.         G.      At the bottom of the screen set the following:

  44.                    1.      Uses its own colors: Y
  45.                    2.      Runs in background: Y
  46.                    3.      Keyboard Conflict: 6 or C
  47.                    4.      Can be swapped out: N

  49.         H.      Set all other options as required by the application
