Use of a NULL-Modem
A null-modem is not a modem, but a piece of hardware that
swaps 2/3 and 3/4 lines in your serial cable. This lets you
connect 2 serial ports directly to transfer data. You can use a
special program, Laplink (commercial), Xport (sharware) which let
you control both ends from one computer, even creating new
directories. You can use your term program too. You will need
(usually) to type at both keyboards to be effective. To make the
original connection one end (in terminal mode) type ATX1D, the
other end ATA. If both sides are set to the same BPS, parity
(etc) this will connect you. Then you use <PgUp> <PgDn> keys (or
your normal file menu) to transfer your files.
