The Image: High above the heavens

creativity revealed
The Elements: primal fire above primal air, all rising
Astral Significance: the isolation of Jupiter in the autumn and winter signs
of the zodiac
Ruling Planet: Jupiter
Principles, Characteristics, and Manifestations:
distant illuminations, great possessions, bounty, celestial revelation, wealth,
cultural advancement, abundance, clarity and intellect held in high regard,
overwhelming brightness, greed, fame, desire for attention and fame, the
lure of distant and worthy goals, shining examples, access to authority
The hexagram Ta Yu is traditionally called 'Possession in Great Measure'
or 'Great Havings'. The ideas of prosperity and abundance derive from the
combination of the trigrams of light and sky; the presence of the distant
lights of the heavens assures sucess in the realm of men. The intellegence
of light leads the strength and creativity of the lower trigram, producing
riches. The firm action of individuals below follows the clear and brilliant
plan from above. As a statement of planetary positions, Ta Yu proclaims a
like message. Jupiter is always associated with abundance, wealth, optimism,
and joviality. This is because Jupiter is the largest of all of the planets,
maintains the central (fifth) position, and is the brightest planet beyond
Earths orbit. In 'Starlight', this ruler of all the planets rests in autumn/
winter, while all his minions actively create and produce. This laissez-
faire attitude on behalf of ruling individuals allows the talents of others
to blossom. It is this very absence of control which gives rise to the con-
cept of diversity. Primal air and evolved fire mix fortuitously, and riches
result. All energies are firmly channeled towards the long range goal.
