Just about all modern communications programs can utilize ANSI graphics, although you may have to configure specifically for or select ANSI emulation. Contrary to popular beleif, you do NOT have to have the driver ANSI.SYS in your CONFIG.SYS file in order for your communications program to interpret ANSI graphics. Look at the samples below. If you can read the color names (whether or not you have color), then your system DOES support ANSI graphics. If you see escape sequences, such as [37;40;1m, then your system is not presently configured for ANSI graphics.
