  120. WhatFax was originally developed for in-house use to ease installation of
  121. customized fax software on systems with existing fax modems. We have made
  122. WhatFax available to the public with this release (version 1.1). For those
  123. who are curious, the source code to WhatFax (Borland C 3.1 and TASM) may be
  124. obtained by calling Logan Industries, Inc. at (407) 984-1627 with your
  125. MasterCard or Visa number, or by sending a check, to:

  169.                                USING WHATFAX

  172. WhatFax is a simple command line utility. Invoke Whatfax from the DOS
  173. prompt by typing WHATFAX.  You may specify a number of options when invok-
  174. ing WhatFax:
  175.  
  176.      /B   -    To Bypass the CAS driver test.
  177.  
  178.  
  179.      /Cx  -    To specify the COM port used by your Fax Modem.
  180.                (x = 1..4 for COM1 through COM4)
  181.  
  182.      WhatFax supports COM1 through COM4. WhatFax obtains the COM port
  183.      address from the BIOS data area (Segment 40h), thus in order for
  184.      WhatFax to recognize your COM port, the BIOS must be aware of the COM
  185.      ports in your system.

  187.      /Ix  -    Specify alternative IRQ number.
  188.  
  189.      By default WhatFax will use the following COM port to IRQ number mapping:
  190.  
  191.           COM1 - IRQ4, COM2 - IRQ3, COM3 - IRQ4, COM4 - IRQ3.
  192.  
  193.      This works for most installations. If your COM port does not use the
  194.      default IRQ number, you may override the default numbers. For example:
  195.      /I5  would cause IRQ5 to be used.
  196.  
  197.      /H   -    display a help screen.

  202.      WHATFAX /C1         -    Causes WhatFax to check the modem on COM1.
  203.  
  204.      WHATFAX /C2 /B      -    Causes WhatFax to check the modem on COM2 but
  205.                               the CAS driver test is not performed.

  207.      WHATFAX /C3 /I3     -    Causes WhatFax to check the modem on COM3
  208.                               using IRQ 3.
