  2.              UPE # 103 "Rules" - Standard
  3.         Bidding closes Sunday, January 31, 1993 @ 8:59 pm

  5. 1.  All bids must be an even dollar amount (i.e. $1, $2, etc.)
  6. 2.  Send bids PUBLIC to JEFF SCHEIBE or BIDS, NO CC's, NO RECEIPTS
  7.     >>>-- NOTICE -->  OTHER BIDS WILL NOT BE COUNTED!  <-- NOTICE --<<<
  8. 3.  NO vague bids. Reply with: item #, short description, $ amount.
  9. 4.  Bids on duplicates will be applied to lowest current bid.
  10. 5.  Sellers may place ONE bid on their items until 48 HOURS BEFORE CLOSE
  11.     as long as they have not placed a RESERVE on their items.
  12. 6.  The UPE Monitor reserves the right to bid like anyone else.
  13. 7.  Bids time stamped 8:59 PM by the Exec-PC system will be accepted.
  14.     Any bids time stamped 9:00 or after will NOT be accepted.
  15. 8.  Items may not be withdrawn from bidding after UPE begins.
  16. 9.  You MUST follow through and pay for the item if you win.
  17. 10. Shipping/insurance costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
  18. 11. Failure to follow these rules will cause everyone to get on your case.
  19. 12. In the event of a system crash near the closing of this UPE, the
  20.     following policies will be in effect:
  21.     If the system is up by *8:00 PM*, there will be no extension.
  22.     If the system is up by *8:59 PM*, the UPE extends to *9:59:59 PM*.
  23.     If the system is NOT up by *8:59 PM*, the UPE will be extended to
  24.        *Monday* at 8:59:59 PM.
  25. 13. Your monitor will make every effort to notify all UPE participants
  26.     of any changes in the UPE closing time. HOWEVER, your monitor WILL NOT
  27.     ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR BIDDERS LOSING BIDS due to extensions.
  28.     IOW, if there's a question about closing, DON'T ASSUME - BE HERE!!
  29. 14. By participating in this UPE as a buyer or seller, you agree to accept
  30.     any/all decisions that the Monitor may have to make during the course
  31.     of the UPE. The Monitor will make his/her best effort to be fair to
  32.     all parties, but his decision WILL BE FINAL.
  33. 15. In general, let's have some fun and trust that if any "tough" 
  34.     decisions need to be made the UPE monitor will do what he feels is in 
  35.     everyone's best interest.
