TITLE : Borland's Automated Support Services
Borland offers two automated interactive technical support
services for dBASE IV, Paradox, and Quattro Pro users that can be
accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week: 800 Automated Support
and Online Automated Support (OAS). These services provide
identical information: up-to-date detailed information regarding
frequently asked questions, including troubleshooting error
messages and symptoms, and tips and traps. The difference in the
services is the way they are accessed.
The 800 Automated Support service is an audio support session
that can be accessed through any touch-tone telephone. The
Online Automated Support (OAS) service is an online support
session that is accessed with your computer and modem.
800 Automated Support
To use the 800 Automated Support service, call:
1-800-524-8420
You will be greeted to the system and provided with a main menu
of choices. These choices represent general areas of each
product. From this main menu, you will continue to respond to
questions until you have zeroed in on the information you
require. Whenever possible, you will be referred to a document
you can receive by fax from our TechFax system. For more
information on TechFax, see document #9652.
Online Automated Support
To use OAS, call:
1-408-431-5250
with your modem initialized to the following settings:
Baud rate : 1200, 2400, or 9600
Data bits : 8

Once you have connected with OAS, begin responding to the menus
and prompts and capturing the information to a file. If at any
sign-up prompt you don't have any information to enter or wish
not to respond, enter "N/A" (without the quotes). Pressing
[ENTER] without providing a response will cause the prompt to
reappear.
