  28. The staff at kfps-roble6-dynamic.stanford.edu (Rogue) is currently on
  29. vacation. Therefore this site is currently unavailable throughout the

  31. January.  This site has been a primary site for gifs, games and sound
  32. files and will also be undergoing some ugprades during its downtime.

  56. Just got passed word that LEADING TECHNOLOGIES is working on a sound
  57. board called the AUDIOWARE BOARD.  This sound board was featured in
  58. a Nov/Dec issue of InfoWorld magazine.

  60. I called their 800 phone number and was told that the board was still
  61. in production and to check back in several weeks.  I did manage to
  62. find out that the board can do speech, music and will be MIDI compatible
  63. and also Soundblaster compatible.  It is supposed to be 16-bit.  And
  64. get this he said that the price (retail) would be about $199.

  66. I am following up on this company and will be bringing more details as
  67. they become available.  If anybody else knows anything about this board
  68. please e-mail me.

  72. Many of you have been asking about how to play files on a SUN or SPARC
  73. station.  I have obtained several of these conversion programs and 
  74. files but I have not been able to test them.   However I have been
  75. informed by John Christianson that there is a site at 'ucsd.edu'
  76. that does have files in the 'sparcaudio' and the 'midi' directories
  77. that you can experiment with.

  81. There have recently been a lot of new progams out to play sound
  82. files.  Among them Playmac, Digiplay, Scream Tracker and many more.
  83. If you are the author of one of these and would like to tell everybody
  84. about your product we are now accepting short summaries for posting
  85. in our next edition.
