Screen Saver
PROGRAM VERSION HISTORY
========================================================================
Changes in 5.1
* Corrected problem where, after reloading options with SCSAVINS,
enhanced-kbd calls were used on non-enhanced-kbd systems, causing
hot-keys and passwords to be passed through to applications.
* Added support for Hercules monochrome-graphics cards.
* Added new program, SCSLOG.COM, to log events (lock, unlock, invalid
password, etc).
* Added /F option to SCSAVER.COM to allow specification of option
file. Also, once SCSAVER is resident, the default option file
won't be read unless the /F option is specified.
* Added /T+,/T- to SCSAVER.COM to provide the same functionality as
the /VTRAP option of SCSLOAD.
* Added /A:nn option in SCSAVER.COM to limit the number of incorrect
password attempts after the lock has engaged. Specifying zero will
allow unlimited unlock attempts.
* Added code to "aggresively" take over the keyboard interrupt when
the security lock engages, to insure that its possible to enter
the unlock password.
* Added support for event logger to all programs.
* Added support for 3-button mice, if they use an Microsoft
compatible driver (problem SCS05001).

Debugger (problem SCS05002).

problems with some BIOSs.
* Added new program, SCSCGA.EXE, to modify CGA screen-restore
parameters (problem SCS05003).
* Changed SCSLOAD.EXE to detect when it has loaded a program that
goes TSR (this is a no-no). Changed /VTRAP option to /T+, /T-.
Changes in 5.0
* Added support for the DOS 5.0 Task Switcher API. This corrects
a problem that caused the mouse to get lost when switching tasks.
* Close STDIN/STDOUT handles before going TSR. This allows all
screen output to be redirected during initial loading.
* Added /BIOS option to force the use of BIOS output instead of DOS
Standard output.
* Added optional "Master Lock Hot Key" to invoke lock regardless of
mode (customer request).
* Added confirmation tone when valid password is accepted (customer
request).
* Require carraige-return before validating password (customer
request).
* Added LOCKNOW option to invoke keyboard lock from command line
(customer request).
* Added /C+ and /C- options to respect or ignore case of password
(customer request).
* Security lock will now prevent Desqview menu or DOS 5.0 Task
Switcher menu from being popped up and will prevent switching
windows or tasks.
* Release Environment block when loading high, to conserve memory.
* Current resident parameters will be displayed when using the "/?"
(help) option.
* Improved mouse locking by locking interrupt driven routines.
* Omit mouse support code when loading without mouse driver or with
/M- switch.
* Added new program, SCSREMOV, to remove Screen Saver from memory.
* Added documentation for application programming interface that
allows user applications to communicate with Screen Saver (See file
SCSAVER.API for details).
* The program SCSAVINS is now referred to as the "setup program" in
the documentation.
* Add /ON, /OFF, /LOCK, /LOCKONLY and /VTRAP options to SCSLOAD.
