Subject: $250 Cookie Recipe
Here is a recipe a friend gave to me. I can't vouch that it is a true
story. Might just be an Urban Myth.
- ---
A friend of a friend had lunch at the Hedges at NIEMAN MARCUS in
November, and for dessert she had a cookie. She thought it was the most
wonderful cookie she had ever tasted and asked if the recipe was
available. She was told that it was but there was a charge of
two-fifty. She said that was fine, got the recipe and told them to
charge it to her account.
In December when she got her bill, there was a charge of $250.00. She
called and told them there was a mistake that the charge should be
$2.50. She was told there was no mistake, that the charge was correct.
They told her it was a not a returnable item and she would have to pay
the amount charged to her account or become delinquent in payments.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS, SHE PAID!!!! She wants to get the recipe out to
everyone she possibly can, and asks anyone who gets a copy send it out
to everyone they know. So, here it is:
NEIMAN MARCUS $250.00 COOKIE RECIPE
2 cups butter 1 teaspoon salt
2 cups sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups brown sugar 2 teaspoons baking soda
4 eggs 4 ounces chocolate chips
2 teaspoons of vanilla 1 8oz. Hershey bar, grated
4 cups flour 3 cups chopped nuts
5 cups blended oatmeal *
*blended oatmeal: measure and blend in a blender to a fine powder
Cream butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix together with
flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add chips, candy
and nuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake for six minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 112 cookies, but recipe can
be halved.
THIS IS A TRUE STORY!!!

As I said, I don't know if it's true or not.
