ICONS for Windows 3.0 and PC-Link
by
Thomas L. Quindry
(PC Tom, Coordinator Applications Forums on PC-Link)
Here are two ICONS for PC-Link for use with Windows 3.0. Also
included is a PCLINK.PIF file. It is set up to default to the D:\
drive for downloading files so you don't mix PC-Link program files
with downloaded files. Create a subdirectory on your hard drive and
use PIFEDIT.EXE to modify the default to that subdirectory. As an
alternative, you can specify a floppy disk as the default. You may
want to modify the .PIF file in other ways to suit your installation
of Windows. I use this one with Windows 3.0 in the "Real" mode.
To install either of the ICONS with your PC-Link program,
1. Copy PCLINK.ICO, PCLINK2.ICO, and PCLINK.PIF to the Windows
subdirectory
2. Run your Windows 3.0 program
3. Open your Non-Windows Applications group
4. Select "File"
5. Select "New"
6. Enter the Application name (PC-Link) and also the name and path
for the PCLINK.PIF file. ( for example, C:WINDOWS\PCLINK.PIF)
7 Select CHANGE ICON
8. Then when the Select Icon box comes up enter the name and path of
the ICON (for example, C:WINDOWS\PCLINK.ICO or
C:\WINDOWS\PCLINK2.ICO)
9. Select VIEW NEXT to see the ICON that you selected
10. If you don't like that ICON, select the other.
These ICONS are Public Domain. They can be included with any other
set of ICONS that programmers compile.
No registration required, but please let me know which ICON you like
best. Leave E-Mail to PC Tom on PC-Link.
