░ MultiBBS Version 2.01 ░
-------------------------
BUGFIX
■ What I used to Write MultiBBS
-------------------------------
Version 1.X
-----------
MicroSoft QuickBasic 4.5
And DoorFrame Fossil routines.
Version 2.X
------------
Turbo Pascal Version 6.0
Using BBSKIT 1.0 Modem routines
■ What is MultiBBS?/What is it made for?
----------------------------------------
What is MultiBBS? It os a program to pick Different software
packages for you BBS. Why I made this program was, I once got a
copy of this BBS software called RoboBoard (c) Seth Hamilton. I
really liked this Software as it was the first EGA\VGA Graphics BBS
Software. But it ha no Support for ANSI/ASCII or AVATAR.
And since over 50% of my users used a CGA monitor or lower I could
not just kick them out and ell them to buy a new monitor so I wrote
this little program. First in QuickBasic using Dummy
Dorinfo1.def's. No More. I now Use Turbo Pascal, I was getting
hell from friends saying Marc the Guy who uses Basic. So I now
have got to the Good stuff and the next Major version 3.0 should be
out by the summer of 93 and that will be in the New Turbo C, I just
spent all my money on. So I wrote this and once my FrontEnd Mailer
or at that Time the FrontEnd for RoboBBS loaded up it then asked
for there selection. At this Time I had no EchoMail. <grin> I
remember that version well. Wrote it in QuickBasic, took me 10
minutes and ASCII only mode. Hey it even had a CHAT. This version
waits for you to Press a Key. (HotKeys) and then will exit on
the Errorlevel for that choice. Or Log you off or the *NEW*
function Download the terminal in the Program. Xmodem now. Very
soon I will have Ymodem. Very Easy to configure, the only hard
part it the BATCH files.
- Just I make it easy and add a couple in for different types of
Setup.
Even PCBOARD.
■ Ansi Screens.
---------------
Do not make your ANSI Screens more than 20 lines or the ANSI will
go off the end of the screen.
■ What do you need?
-------------------
A modem. <grin>
A computer with (recommend) 640k memory. RoboBoard needs 490 Plus
TSRs!
A FOSSIL driver loaded such as X00, BNU or OPUSCOMM
Two BBS softwares
A front-end mailer such a Frontdoor, Blinkley Term, D'Bridge or
SeaDog
■ Configuration (MULTICFG.EXE)
------------------------------
To configure MULTIBBS to your system run the program MULTICFG.EXE
This program asks a couple of questions that can help customize
MULTIBBS to your system. It will ask you the Name of the Software
and then the Errorlevel on which to exit at. And then it will ask
you the name of the Terminal to Download. EG. ROBO270.EXE and
then the Path and filename. Eg. C:\ROBOBBS\ROBO270.EXE
And your Done. Easy eh!
■ Batch File Configuring
-------------------------
Check the Example Bath Files. EG. EX1.BAT Etc.
■ Running the Program
----------------------
The basic syntax for loading MULTIBBS is
MULTI <Com Port>
0 for Local
