  1.                   Instant Norton Utilities Menu
  2.  
  3. The General Idea:
  4.      Symantec has provided many useful and valuable utilities in
  5. its Norton Utilities 6.  We are very grateful to them for doing
  6. this!  The Norton Utilities simplify working with disks,
  7. subdirectories, files and DOS.
  8.      The only problem is that we can never remember the NAMES of
  9. all the utilities nor the required PARAMETERS.  Perhaps you have
  10. the same problem.
  11.      The Instant Norton Utilities Menu helps solve this problem
  12. by presenting a pop-up menu which allows you to choose the
  13. utility you want.  The program then prompts you for the necessary
  14. parameters.  The menu program is a gateway to the power of the
  15. utilities.  You must, of course, have your own copy of the Norton
  16. Utilities 6.

  18. Contained in this package are the following files:
  19.      README.1ST   :  This file, containing general information.
  20.      INSNU6A.COM  :  Instant Norton Utilities Menu launching
  21.                      program.

  23. WHAT TO DO:
  24.      1.  Run INSNU6A once.  At the DOS prompt, type:
  25.          INSNU6A
  26. and press the "Enter" key.  You can also do this in your
  27. AUTOEXEC.BAT file so that it runs automatically when you start
  28. your computer.  The program installs the pop-up menu in memory as
  29. a TSR (Terminate-and-Stay-Resident) program.
  30.      2.  The "hot-key" is Ctrl-Ins.  This means whenever you hold
  31. down the "Control" key ("Ctrl") and then press the "Insert" key
  32. ("Ins"), the menu will pop up on the screen.  On some machines
  33. with two "Insert" keys, only one of the two may work.
  34.      3.  Select which utility function you want from the menu
  35. descriptions.  Push the "Escape" key to back up through menu
  36. choices.  If you push "Escape" enough times, you can get out of
  37. the menu entirely.  All of these utilities MUST be run from the
  38. DOS prompt, NOT while you're running a program.
  39.      4.  The Instant Norton Utilities Menu will select the
  40. correct Norton Utilities program and fill in the parameters at
  41. the DOS prompt.  All you do is press the "Enter" key.

  44. All the Norton Utilities files are copyrighted by Symantec and
  45. must be used according to their rules.

  48. INSNU6A.COM is copyrighted by Perfectly Adequate Software and is
  49. Shareware.
