I have not included an install program with this BBS release, mainly to
cut down on the size of the download. You will need to install the files
in the following directories:
EXE.ZIP -- executable and database files -- **PLEASE** install in a
new directory (for ease of deleting if you don't like it)
Help.ZIP -- install in the executable directory or in the
WINDOWS directory -- your choice
VBX.ZIP -- Install in WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory (see below)
VBX2.ZIP -- (Optional) Install these files only if you are running
Windows 3.0 (they are included in Windows 3.1)
VBX.ZIP contains the following files:
CsText.VBX - From Crescent Software QuickPak for Windows 2.0
CsForm.VBX - From Crescent Software QuickPak for Windows 2.0
CsMeter.VBX - From Crescent Software QuickPak for Windows 2.0
CsDialog.VBX - From Crescent Software QuickPak for Windows 2.0
QPList.VBX - From Crescent Software QuickPak for Windows 2.0
QPro200.DLL - From Crescent Software QuickPak for Windows 2.0
Threed.VBX - From Visual Basic Professional 2.0
PicClip.VBX - From Visual Basic Professional 2.0
VBX2.ZIP contains the following files -- install **only** if you are running
Windows 3.0:
DDEML.DLL - Dated 10/21/92
COMMDLG.DLL - Dated 10/21/92
NOTE: You will also need to have VBRUN200.DLL installed in your \WINDOWS or
your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. It is not included with this package.
The program has a complete *.HLP file, and it is designed so that you can
scroll thru it sequentially, as well as do jumps and searches. I have
implimented context sensitive help whenever possible (F1), but <SHIFT>+<F1>
is *NOT* implimented, nor is it planned.
I have commented out a password module to get into the program, because I
haven't figured out a good way to store in the program itself (it uses no
INI files for configuration) whether or not to ask for a password. I
figured a password would be nice in a corporate setting -- the program could
be installed on a common directory on the network, but the average user
would not be able to use it, since they wouldn't have the password.
Please let me know about any problems or suggestions, preferably in
**PRIVATE** messages so as not in interfer with the already incredible scroll
rate of the forum.
