  7.         16. INTRODUCING DISK COPY PLUS

  10.             DISK COPY PLUS is the professional version of DISK COPY FAST.
  11.             It includes all the features of DISK COPY FAST plus some
  12.             advanced features.
  13.

  15.             To many people, large quantity diskette duplicating means that
  16.             you need to buy high-price copier. Not so any more. With DISK
  17.             COPY PLUS you can assemble two low-end 286 PCs each equipped
  18.             with up to four floppy drives at much lower price and achieve
  19.             much higher copying speed. Not only do You get higher
  20.             productivity, but also that you get two computers instead of a
  21.             special purpose machine.

  24.             DISK COPY PLUS is even better for you if you only need to copy
  25.             small quantity of the same source diskette every day. Consider
  26.             the low cost, incredibly high speed (see page 18-19 in
  27.             DCF40.DOC) and other powerful features (explained later), DISK
  28.             COPY PLUS is hard to beat.

  31.             One of the most powerful features of DISK COPY PLUS is
  32.             customized hot keys. You define up to 10 hot keys according
  33.             to your special needs.

  36.             A feature similar to hot keys but requiring no keystrokes is
  37.             the AUTOEXEC feature. You define what DISK COPY PLUS should do
  38.             automatically when you run the program, just like AUTOEXEC.BAT
  39.             does when you reboot your computer.

  42.             For example, DISK COPY PLUS can be configured so that each
  43.             time you type DCP at the DOS prompt it will read an image file,
  44.             set up a serial number (explained later), define read/write
  45.             options and then prompt for the target disk. You then insert
  46.             the target into drive A:, close the door and it will start
  47.             copying. After you have done with one format, at the press of
  48.             one key it converts the source to another format, say, from
  49.             720KB to 360KB, and continue copying in another drive.

  52.             In this example, it takes only two keystrokes (one to change
  53.             format, another to quit.) to produce as many 360KB and 720KB

  64.             target diskettes as you like. Each copy produced can have a
  65.             unique serial number and each copy can be double checked with
  66.             a BYTE-BY-BYTE comparison to make sure they are identical to
  67.             the original, except for the serial number.

  70.             This high degree of automation means that you can save time for
  71.             more creative work, or you can hire someone who knows nothing
  72.             about computers to do the copying for you.

  75.             Another nice feature of DISK COPY PLUS is automatic serial
  76.             number assignment. Some people like to change the disk serial
  77.             number that DOS shows you when you use the DIR command. Other
  78.             people like to imbed a unique serial number in their product.
  79.             DISK COPY PLUS allow you to do either or both types of these
  80.             serial numbers. In addition, it provides other tools to help
  81.             you find and VERIFY the right location for imbedding serial
  82.             numbers and show you the imbedded serial number on any
  83.             duplicated diskette. This feature can be done automatically
  84.             using the hot keys or AUTOEXEC features.

  87.             DISK COPY PLUS also keeps track of serial number of EVERY
  88.             image file for you so that you don't need to specify the
  89.             serial number each time you run the program. It also keeps
  90.             a log file for your diskette duplication. With a little
  91.             editing (you add the distributing destination) the log file
  92.             becomes a nice record of your diskette distribution.

  95.             The power of DISK COPY PLUS keeps growing. Listed below are
  96.             some other powerful commands.

  99.             The DIAG command checks boot sector, file allocation table
  100.             (FAT) and directory structure and provides reports for diskette
  101.             usage and fragmentation.

  104.             The CONVERT command convert diskette image from one format to
  105.             another, so long as the data on original format can fit into
  106.             the new format. For example, a 1.44 MB disk can be converted to
  107.             360 KB diskette if the data on the 1.44 MB disk does not exceed
  108.             the total data space on a 360 KB diskette.

  119.             The DEFRAG command performs defragmentation on a diskette. It
  120.             does more than just sectors swapping. The entire diskette is
  121.             checked thoroughly for any possible way of compaction. The
  122.             result is a perfect with no waste of space and no fragmentation.

  125.             The DUMP command let you move around the loaded diskette in
  126.             very high speed. You can use it to check the content of a
  127.             diskette or verify the imbedded locations of a serial number.

  130.             DISK COPY PLUS also provides commands that allow you to see
  131.             the directory of a diskette, image file or diskette loaded in
  132.             memory.
