  7. INSTRUCTIONS
  8.  
  9. 4A Draw is a basic drawing program for Windows.  Instead of attempting to
  10. compete with commercial applications like Corel Draw, 4A Draw can be
  11. used in place of a doodle pad.  4A Draw contains commands to clear the
  12. drawing surface, choose a background color, choose a pen color, and
  13. choose a drawing line size.

  16. INSTALLATION
  17.  
  18. Place the file 4ADRAW.EXE on any floppy disk, hard disk, or network
  19. drive, then place the files CMDIALOG.VBX and COMMDLG.DLL into your
  20. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.  Access to the file can be accomplished
  21. through Windows, OS/2 or the Windows shell program of your choice.

  23. SINCE 4A DRAW WAS WRITTEN USING VISUAL BASIC, THE FILE VBRUN200.DLL MUST
  24. BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE WINDOWS SYSTEM.  VBRUN200.DLL can be found on
  25. CompuServe, America OnLine, most bbs systems, or directly from 4A Software.

  28. KNOWN PROBLEMS
  29.  
  30. There are no fatal bugs reported with 4A Draw.  However, choosing a new
  31. background color will cause the 4A Draw screen to be cleared.  In
  32. addition, resizing the 4A Draw screen or covering the 4A Draw screen with
  33. another window will cause you to lose whatever part of your drawing was
  34. covered.  Finally, although the full color palette will appear when
  35. choosing SET FOREGROUND COLOR, 4A Draw will only use the basic 16 color
  36. palette.  Any other colors will be substituted with basic colors.

  38. These bugs will be fixed in a future release.

  41. REGISTRATION AND LICENSE AGREEMENT
  42.  
  43. The use of 4A Draw is subject to the following terms and conditions:
  44.  
  45. 4A Draw is copyrighted material, protected by the copyright laws of
  46. the United States. You may not make any changes or modifications,
  47. decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse-engineer the software
  48. in any way.
  49.  
  50. 4A Draw can be used on a trial basis provided the user does not
  51. violate the protection afforded the licensed software by the copyright laws, 
  52. and the user agrees to the terms of the license agreement. If the user
  53. continues to use 4A Draw past a 30 day evaluation period the user is 
  54. obligated to purchase a license.
  55.  
  56. 4A Draw can be used on a Local Area Network provided that a license is 
  57. obtained for the number of users that may concurrently use the software.
  58.  
  59. A license for the user of 4A Draw can be obtained by sending the
  60. appropriate fee to:

  66. Title to the licensed software is NOT transferred to the end user. The 
  67. end user is granted an exclusive license to use the software on one
  68. computer at any given time.

  71. DISTRIBUTION
  72.  
  73. Users are granted a limited license to copy 4A Draw only for the trial
  74. use by others subject to the terms of this software license agreement
  75. described herein, and the conditions described below are met:

  77. 4A Draw MUST be copied in an unmodified form and MUST contain the
  78. following files:
  79.  
  80.    4ADRAW  .EXE
  81.    DRAW    .TXT
  82.    REGDRAW .TXT
  83.    CMDIALOG.VBX
  84.    COMMDLG .DLL
  85.  
  86. No fee, charge or other compensation may be accepted or requested by
  87. anyone without the express written permission of 4A Software.
  88.  
  89. Public Domain Disk Vendors, Shareware Disk Vendors and Distributors of
  90. public domain and user supported software may not charge a fee for 4A
  91. Draw itself. However, you may include 4A Draw on a diskette for
  92. which you charge a nominal distribution fee. The purchaser of said
  93. diskette must be informed in advance that the fee paid to acquire the
  94. diskette does NOT relieve said purchaser from paying the registration
  95. fee for 4A Draw if said purchaser uses 4A Draw.

  97. Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may post 4A Draw for 
  98. downloading by their users without written permission only as long as
  99. the above conditions are met. A fee may be charged for access to the bbs
  100. as long as no specific fee is charged for downloading 4A Draw files.

  103. LIMITED WARRANTY
  104.  
  105. 4A Software does not warrant that the licensed software will meet
  106. any requirements or that the operation of the software will be
  107. uninterrupted or error free. The warranty does not cover any media or
  108. documentation which has been subject to damage or abuse by you or others.
  109. The software warranty does not cover any copy of the licensed software
  110. which has been altered or changed in any way.
  111.  
  112. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR
  113. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THE EXPRESS
  114. WARRANTIES. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied
  115. warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  117. The warranties set forth above are in lieu of any and all other express
  118. or implied warranties, whether oral, written, or implied, and the remedies
  119. set forth above are the sole and exclusive remedies.
  120.  
  121. 4A Software is not responsible for any problems or damages caused
  122. by the licensed software that may result from using the licensed
  123. software. This includes, but is not limited to, computer hardware,
  124. computer software, operating systems, and any computer or computing
  125. accessories. End user agrees to hold 4A Software harmless for any
  126. problems arising from the use of the software.

  128. 4A Software SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, 
  129. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR OTHER SIMILAR DAMAGES ARISING
  130. FROM ANY BREACH OF THESE WARRANTIES EVEN IF 4A SOFTWARE OR ITS AGENTS
  131. OR DISTRIBUTORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
  132. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
  133. consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply
  134. to you.

  136. In no case shall 4A Software's liability exceed the license fees
  137. paid for the right to use the licensed software.
