  16.   Failing to add a remote system </h1>
  17. <p>If you fail to connect to the remote system, the Adaptec Storage Manager displays
  18.   an error message and does not add the remote system to the Enterprise view. If the Manager
  19.   fails to connect, verify the following:</p>

  21.   <li>The Adaptec Storage Manager is running on the remote system.<br>
  22.     <br>

  24.   <li>The remote system is using a compatible version of the Adaptec Storage Manager.<br>
  25.     <br>
  26.   </li>
  27.   <li>The remote system has TCP/IP installed.<br>
  28.     <br>
  29.   </li>
  30.   <li>You supplied the correct user name and password, if security is enabled
  31.     on the remote system.<br>
  32.     <br>
  33.   </li>
  34.   <li>The remote system is turned on.<br>
  35.     <br>
  36.   </li>
  37.   <li>The host name is defined in the Domain Name Server or a Hosts file, if you
  38.     are trying to connect using a host name.<br>
  39.     <br>

  41.   <li>The remote session is running on the appropriate port.</li>
