  1. Juke v3.4 - The one player for all media types.
  2.  
  3. If you're looking for a simple, yet full featured program to 
  4. play all your music, sound and video files and also music CDs, 
  5. you have just found it: Juke.
  6.  
  7. Juke lets you create playlists or albums intuitively by drag and 
  8. drop with the Explorer. You can even drag directories onto Juke 
  9. and Juke will add all supported media files from these 
  10. directories to the playlist. Also organzing items within the 
  11. playlist is as easy as drag and drop. Of cause, you can save 
  12. playlists into files for later use. Or you may send them via 
  13. e-mail to a friend. This is very useful if your media files are 
  14. accessible via a company or campus wide network.

  16. Did you ever become annoyed by CD-Players that forced you to 
  17. enter the titles of your CDs over and over again, because they 
  18. all use their native database? Not so with Juke. Juke simply 
  19. shares the CD database of the Windows CD-Player and its editor 
  20. is even more convenient.

  22. Do you want to hear background music everytime you work at the 
  23. PC? That's what Juke is made for. Simply add all your sound 
  24. files to the Juke playlist and add Juke to the "Startup" 
  25. program group. That's all. At Windows startup Juke will auto-
  26. matically pick up from the playlist item where it left off when 
  27. you shut it down. And it won't annoy you with any user inter-
  28. face. When minimized, only a small icon in the system tray will 
  29. remind you of its presence.

  31. Juke features native support for MPEG audio files (MP2 and MP3),
  32. Amiga modules (MOD, S3M, XM etc.) and all MCI compatible media 
  33. files that are supported by Windows drivers, like WAV, MID, RMI
  34. and AVI. It it is compatible with all kinds of compressed audio 
  35. and video and it is open for additional formats, like MPG, AU, 
  36. SND, AIF and many more that will be installed by Microsoft 
  37. ActiveMovie, DirectSound or Internet Explorer. Third party 
  38. drivers are available for FLI, MOV, JPG and other media types.

  40. In addition, Juke provides the following features:
  41. - Random play, Configurable Intro-Scan, Repeat and Shuffle mode
  42. - Optional automatic MIDI-Reset
  43. - Support for Soundlaster AWE32/AWE64 sound fonts
  44. - Search for tracks within the playlist
  45. - Rename or delete files
  46. - Master volume control
  47. - Position slider for seek control, fast forward, rewind
  48. - Multiple Undo/Redo for playlist operations
  49. - Very flexible graphical user inteface
  50. - Fault tolerant mode
  51. - Soft fade-out
  52. - Shell extension for playing the contents of a directory

  54. Juke will run on any computer running Microsoft Windows 95 or
  55. Windows NT. A Windows compatible sound card is recommended.

  57. Juke is multi-lingual. Currently, support for English and German
  58. language is available. Juke will examine your system preferences
  59. and automatically show up in the language of your choice. A 
  60. Unicode version is available for use with Microsoft Windows NT.

  62. Juke is distributed as freeware. That means, you may use it any 
  63. time and for any purpose, provided you do not try to debug or 
  64. modify it. You may also copy the program as you like. You have 
  65. permission to add it to any freeware or shareware collection. 
  66. However, you must not sell Juke. If you plan to use Juke for 
  67. commercial purposes, e.g. for operation a radio station, or if 
  68. you add it to a CD-ROM, please inform the author.
