Juke v3.4 - The one player for all media types. If you're looking for a simple, yet full featured program to play all your music, sound and video files and also music CDs, you have just found it: Juke. Juke lets you create playlists or albums intuitively by drag and drop with the Explorer. You can even drag directories onto Juke and Juke will add all supported media files from these directories to the playlist. Also organzing items within the playlist is as easy as drag and drop. Of cause, you can save playlists into files for later use. Or you may send them via e-mail to a friend. This is very useful if your media files are accessible via a company or campus wide network. Did you ever become annoyed by CD-Players that forced you to enter the titles of your CDs over and over again, because they all use their native database? Not so with Juke. Juke simply shares the CD database of the Windows CD-Player and its editor is even more convenient. Do you want to hear background music everytime you work at the PC? That's what Juke is made for. Simply add all your sound files to the Juke playlist and add Juke to the "Startup" program group. That's all. At Windows startup Juke will auto- matically pick up from the playlist item where it left off when you shut it down. And it won't annoy you with any user inter- face. When minimized, only a small icon in the system tray will remind you of its presence. Juke features native support for MPEG audio files (MP2 and MP3), Amiga modules (MOD, S3M, XM etc.) and all MCI compatible media files that are supported by Windows drivers, like WAV, MID, RMI and AVI. It it is compatible with all kinds of compressed audio and video and it is open for additional formats, like MPG, AU, SND, AIF and many more that will be installed by Microsoft ActiveMovie, DirectSound or Internet Explorer. Third party drivers are available for FLI, MOV, JPG and other media types. In addition, Juke provides the following features: - Random play, Configurable Intro-Scan, Repeat and Shuffle mode - Optional automatic MIDI-Reset - Support for Soundlaster AWE32/AWE64 sound fonts - Search for tracks within the playlist - Rename or delete files - Master volume control - Position slider for seek control, fast forward, rewind - Multiple Undo/Redo for playlist operations - Very flexible graphical user inteface - Fault tolerant mode - Soft fade-out - Shell extension for playing the contents of a directory Juke will run on any computer running Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT. A Windows compatible sound card is recommended. Juke is multi-lingual. Currently, support for English and German language is available. Juke will examine your system preferences and automatically show up in the language of your choice. A Unicode version is available for use with Microsoft Windows NT. Juke is distributed as freeware.
