  4. TCP188.EXE can be installed  from either:
  5.   A. The server where it will run (local installation).
  6.   B. Or from a workstation attached to the server (remote
  7.   installation).  
  8. NOTE: Do NOT just copy the files in.  If you do, existing Novell
  9. products will be damaged.
  10.  
  11. A. Local Installation of TCP188
  12. -------------------------------
  13. 1. Use the DOS Label command to label a floppy disk SNMP_1. 
  14.  
  15. 2. Unzip TCP188.EXE onto that floppy disk.
  16.  
  17. 3. From the server console, type the following command:
  18.         LOAD INSTALL <Enter>
  19.  
  20. 4. At the Install NLM screen, select Product Options.
  21.  
  22. 5. Press <Insert> to add a new product.
  23.  
  24. 6. Insert the diskette with the TCP188 files in the disk drive.  If
  25. the diskette is not in drive A:, change the drive letter to the
  26. correct letter.  Then, press <Enter> to start the installation.
  27.  
  28. 7. When installation is complete, Press <Esc> to get to the Main menu.
  29.  
  30. 8. Press <Esc> to exit the Install NLM.
  31.  
  32. 9. Bring down the server by typing the following commands:
  33.      DOWN
  34.      EXIT
  35.  
  36. 10. Restart the server by typing the command: SERVER
  37.  
  38. TCP188 is now installed on the server.
  39.  
  40.  
  41. B. Installing TCP188.EXE remotely
  42. ---------------------------------
  43. 1. Log into the server where you are installing TCP188.
  44.  
  45. 2. Create the directory SYS:SNMP_1 on the server by entering the
  46. following commands at your workstation:
  47.      MAP Q:=SYS:
  48.      Q:
  49.      MD SNMP_1
  50.      CD SNMP_1
  51.  
  52. 3. Copy the files and subdirectories from TCP188 into the SYS:SNMP_1
  53. directory.
  54.  
  55. 4. Run RCONSOLE.
  56.  
  57. 5. Load the Install NLM by typing: LOAD INSTALL
  58.  
  59. 6. At the Install NLM screen, select Product Options.
  60.  
  61. 7. Press <Insert> to add a new product.
  62.  
  63. 8. At the prompt, type SYS:SNMP_1 and press <Enter>.
  64.  
  65. 9. When installation is complete, Press <Esc> to get to the Main menu.
  66.  
  67. 10. Press <Esc> to exit the Install NLM.
  68.  
  69. 11. Bring down the server by typing the following commands:
  70.         DOWN
  71.         EXIT
  72.  
  73. 12. Restart the server by typing the command: SERVER
  74.  
  75. TCP188 is now installed on the server.
