INSTALL.TXT 11OCT94 TCP188.EXE can be installed from either: A. The server where it will run (local installation). B. Or from a workstation attached to the server (remote installation). NOTE: Do NOT just copy the files in. If you do, existing Novell products will be damaged. A. Local Installation of TCP188 ------------------------------- 1. Use the DOS Label command to label a floppy disk SNMP_1. 2. Unzip TCP188.EXE onto that floppy disk. 3. From the server console, type the following command: LOAD INSTALL 4. At the Install NLM screen, select Product Options. 5. Press to add a new product. 6. Insert the diskette with the TCP188 files in the disk drive. If the diskette is not in drive A:, change the drive letter to the correct letter. Then, press to start the installation. 7. When installation is complete, Press to get to the Main menu. 8. Press to exit the Install NLM. 9. Bring down the server by typing the following commands: DOWN EXIT 10. Restart the server by typing the command: SERVER TCP188 is now installed on the server. B. Installing TCP188.EXE remotely --------------------------------- 1. Log into the server where you are installing TCP188. 2. Create the directory SYS:SNMP_1 on the server by entering the following commands at your workstation: MAP Q:=SYS: Q: MD SNMP_1 CD SNMP_1 3. Copy the files and subdirectories from TCP188 into the SYS:SNMP_1 directory. 4. Run RCONSOLE. 5. Load the Install NLM by typing: LOAD INSTALL 6. At the Install NLM screen, select Product Options. 7. Press to add a new product. 8. At the prompt, type SYS:SNMP_1 and press . 9. When installation is complete, Press to get to the Main menu. 10. Press to exit the Install NLM. 11. Bring down the server by typing the following commands: DOWN EXIT 12. Restart the server by typing the command: SERVER TCP188 is now installed on the server.
