  16. PTF 422 is the current Maintenance PTF for NetWare Services Manager for
  17. SAA.  All known problem fixes are included.  PTF422.TXT is included which
  18. contains important installation instructions.

  70. Installation Instructions: 
  71.  
  72. 1. Do not copy these files to the NetWare for SAA Services Manager
  73. directory.  Instead, create a temporary directory to store these files or
  74. copy them to a diskette (do not write protect).  
  75.  
  76. 2. Ensure that NetWare for SAA Services Manager is not running and that at
  77. least 500K of DOS memory is available.
  78.  
  79. 3. From the DOS prompt, switch to the directory that contains the patch
  80. files and type "SSMPATCH".  This runs the PTF batch file.  This batch file
  81. assumes NetWare for SAA Services Manager is in your C:\NWSAAMGR directory
  82. and NMS is in your C:\NMS directory.  If these applications are in
  83. different directories, enter the directory names as parameters.  If
  84. parameters are used, both parameters are required.  For example, if NetWare
  85. for SAA Services Manager is in the C:\SSMDIR directory and NMS is in the
  86. C:\NMSDIR directory, use the command "SSMPATCH C:\SSMDIR C:\NMSDIR".

  88. 4. Integrate the NetWare for SAA alarms with NMS.  This will reset all
  89. Communication Executive and NetWare for SAA alarm dispositions.
  90.  A. For NMS (NetWare Management System) 1.15, use the Tools > SNMP Alarm
  91. Integrator option on the NMS Menu Bar to integrate the CE.MIB and SNA.MIB
  92. files replaced with the patch.
  93.  
  94.  B. For NMS 2.0, use the Tools > SNMP MIB Compiler option on the NMS Menu
  95. Bar to integrate the CE.MIB and SNA.MIB files.
  96.  
  97.  This will reset the NMS 2.0 alarm dispositions for ALL alarm
  98.  MIBs in the SNMPMIBS\CURRENT subdirectory of NMS including the
  99.  Communication Executive and NetWare for SAA alarms AND others.
  100.  
  101. 5. If NetWare for SAA Services Manager support for HostPrint was installed
  102. prior to this PTF, reinstall the support for HostPrint from the
  103. distribution disks.  During the NetWare for SAA Services Manager
  104. installation program, select the option to install a service.  A message
  105. will warn you that support for HostPrint is already installed.  Continue
  106. the installation process and reinstall support for HostPrint.

  111. This is the first PTF for NetWare for SAA Services Manager 2.0

  114. Solution Specifics: 
  115.  
  116. 1. Closing the Trace window did not stop the active trace and close the
  117. specified trace file.
  118.  
  119. 2. Double-clicking information in the User Information window could
  120. disconnect the related server.
  121.  
  122. 3. Whenever a server being managed is disconnected and then reconnected,
  123. all unwarned users received a potential conflict warning.  With this PTF,
  124. current users no longer receive the warning.
  125.  
  126. 4. Selecting host link statistical attributes when the Reset Attributes
  127. check box is checked caused an "Invalid Object" message to appear.
  128.  
  129. 5. Clicking an incorrectly highlighted icon on the Server Status window
  130. caused Services Manager to terminate with a no memory message.
  131.  
  132. 6. NetWare Runtime users could not access the RunTime connection already
  133. used by another user.  This PTF gives administrators the option to solve
  134. the problem by choosing to disable shell authentication to all servers
  135. being managed by NetWare for SAA Services Manager.  To disable shell
  136. authentication, add a DisableShellAuthentication parameter to the NetWare
  137. for SAA Services Manager section of the NWSAAMGR.INI file in your Windows
  138. directory and set it to "1".

  145. across the network and may impact your network security.
