ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Overview of WEEAS ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
An OS/2 computer running OS/2 Communication Manager (CM) is one type of SNA PU
that can be downstream from a NetWare for SAA (NWSAA) server. In order for a
NWSAA server that has users in its Access Control List (ACL) to recognize an
OS/2 computer you need to maintain a good connection to the server with the
WEEAS program.
The WEEAS connection allows NWSAA to ensure that the user is authorized to
access the LU's requested and to provide usage logs to the NWSAA administrator.
WEEAS uses the SPX protocol to communicate with the EEAS and NWSAA NetWare
Loadable Modules (NLM) on the server. This allows NWSAA to recognize SNA
requests from this computer in a secure downstream environment.
If problems are encountered running WEEAS, please refer to the Troubleshooting
WEEAS section.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 37. Extended Help for WEEAS ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Help is available any time you press the F1 key from anywhere within the
program. Because this is context sensitive help, the help information that is
displayed depends on where in the program F1 was selected.
For instance, you receive help for the File pull-down on the action bar when
you highlight File and press F1. However, this is not the same help that is
displayed when you press F1 while the Exit choice in the File pull-down is
highlighted.
Press Esc at any time to view the previous help window or to return to the main
application window if there are no other help windows.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 38. Help for File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the File pull-down choices to select a new NetWare for SAA server to
connect to, or to exit the program. When the program starts, a connection
window is displayed. Use this window to connect to the server you intend to
use SNA connections on.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 39. Help for New Connection ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this choice to open additional connection windows to NetWare for SAA
(NWSAA) servers.
This is not required by the OS/2 Communication Manager (CM) which only allows
you to connect to one NWSAA server at a time, and you must restart OS/2's CM
each time you connect to a new server.
Warning: The number of concurrent connections maintained may affect the
operation of other communications programs that require SPX connection
resources. The maximum number of SPX connections and sockets is controlled by
settings in the NET.CFG file used by the NetWare Requester.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 40. Help for Exiting WEEAS ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
CAUTION:
Exiting WEEAS will terminate any SNA programs or sessions using a NetWare for
SAA server that WEEAS is maintaining a connection to.
Use this choice to end the WEEAS program and terminate any outstanding
connections to NetWare for SAA servers. WEEAS will determine if there are any
active connections to NWSAA servers and require a response to a warning message
before proceeding.
