═══ 1. Overview of WEEAS ═══ An OS/2 computer running OS/2 Communication Manager (CM) is one type of SNA PU that can be downstream from a NetWare for SAA (NWSAA) server. In order for a NWSAA server that has users in its Access Control List (ACL) to recognize an OS/2 computer you need to maintain a good connection to the server with the WEEAS program. The WEEAS connection allows NWSAA to ensure that the user is authorized to access the LU's requested and to provide usage logs to the NWSAA administrator. WEEAS uses the SPX protocol to communicate with the EEAS and NWSAA NetWare Loadable Modules (NLM) on the server. This allows NWSAA to recognize SNA requests from this computer in a secure downstream environment. If problems are encountered running WEEAS, please refer to the Troubleshooting WEEAS section. ═══ 2.
