  4. Automated Asset Management
  5. Keeping track of what's connected to a network, especially one with
  6. multiple segments, hubs, servers and gateways, can be a daunting
  7. experience.  ManageWise simplifies this process by automatically tracking
  8. all network components, such as hardware and software.  Rather than walking
  9. around to each user's desk and the wiring closet to collect asset details,
  10. you simply gather critical information at your desktop.

  12. Automatic Network Discovery 
  13. ManageWise eliminates the need to take physical inventory.  It
  14. automatically discovers network devices-including routers, hubs, servers
  15. and desktops, regardless of protocols.  To obtain specific information and
  16. focus on your particular group, ManageWise lets you target a specific
  17. workgroup or domain.  Discovery can also run unattended or be scheduled for
  18. continuous or periodic updates.  Integrated graphical maps ManageWise
  19. displays devices discovered in hierarchical, graphical maps.  Internetwork
  20. maps provide an overview of the network topology, showing how Ethernet and
  21. token-ring segments are logically interconnected with routers.  Segment
  22. maps display active stations on the network for a specific segment, and you
  23. can customize these maps to show the geographical location of sites and
  24. devices.  Hardware and software inventory ManageWise also tracks hardware
  25. and software loaded on networked DOS and Windows PCs, Macintosh desktops
  26. and NetWare servers.  ManageWise automatically scans each node for
  27. component information, such as processor type, memory size and installed
  28. software applications.  You can then define and search for supplemental
  29. information during an asset scan.  All asset information is stored in an
  30. inventory database, making it easy to find sets of stations with similar
  31. configurations.
