  4. Comprehensive Network Analysis With ManageWise 2.0
  5.  
  6. ManageWise provides network analysis, based on Novell's proven NetWare
  7. LANalyzer software.  It monitors the interaction among all network devices.
  8.  
  9. Supporting the RMON MIB and other network analysis features, ManageWise
  10. lets you improve network reliability and performance from a single
  11. location.  You can then detect and troubleshoot hundreds of network
  12. problems before they cause expensive downtime.  Traffic analysis ManageWise
  13. provides distributed analysis tools for management of network activity. 
  14. For example, ManageWise identifies the nodes that are generating the
  15. heaviest demand on network resources and shows you exactly what the device
  16. is doing to create that demand.  ManageWise provides detailed information
  17. on packet and data rates for the whole network, each station and each
  18. individual conversation.  This capability lets you identify overloaded
  19. network devices, segments or users generating heavy traffic and rebalance
  20. the network load.  Detailed troubleshooting ManageWise monitors network
  21. traffic and alerts you to potential problems, such as network overload,
  22. network errors or duplicate IP addresses.  After receiving these alerts,
  23. you can direct ManageWise to begin capturingpackets.  These can be stored
  24. in server memory and then examined andinterpreted to show the state of each
  25. station on the network.

  27. Common network and protocol support
  28. The network analysis capabilities of ManageWise include full packet capture
  29. and decode and support the most common networks deployed today.  These
  30. include Ethernet, token ring and variants of these standards (for  example,
  31. 100 Base T and 100 VG-AnyLAN).  Along with supporting common hardware
  32. standards, ManageWise supports common network protocols, including all
  33. versions of NetWare and its IPX, TCP/IP, Appletalk and SNA.
