  17. This file includes new modem definition files for Global MHS and Remote MHS. 
  18. Revision B of MDF178.EXE includes an update to MHZ144.MDF and a new MDF for
  19. the OSITECH laptop modem.  It also includes instructions on how to write your
  20. own MDF files.

  32.      Some users are not supported under Global MHS 2.0 or Remote MHS 2.0.

  36.      The files in MDF178.EXE are designed to assist those users who need
  37.      additional support for modems not currently supported under Global MHS
  38.      2.0 or Remote MHS 2.0.
  39.  
  40.      MDF files are included for the following modems:

  42.           Compaq Enhanced 9600
  43.           Intel 14400 EX
  44.           Megahertz C5144
  45.           Megahertz CC324FM PCMCIA 2.0
  46.           Hayes Smartmodem OPTIMA 14400
  47.           USRobotics Sportster 14,400
  48.           Intel Wireless
  49.           OSITECH

  51.      This file includes new modem definition files for Global MHS and Remote
  52.      MHS.  Revision B of MDF178.EXE includes an update to MHZ144.MDF and a new
  53.      MDF for the OSITECH laptop modem.  It also includes instructions on how

  80.      Note for IWM.MDF Users:
  81.  
  82.           If you're using IWM.MDF with the Intel Wireless modem (Ericsson AT
  83.           Mobidem), you must configure the modem speed in the appropriate MHS
  84.           setup screen for 9600 and turn off any modem protocol negotiation. 
  85.           Users should realize that actual throughput performance for the
  86.           Intel Wireless may be less than 9600 baud.

  88.           Should you encounter connection difficulties using IWM.MDF and
  89.           Remote MHS, invoke Remote MHS with the "-Z" command line switch.

  95.           This Remote MHS 2.0 switch is an undocumented switch that reduces
  96.           the B+ protocol sliding window size to zero and will virtually
  97.           eliminate transmission errors.

  100.      The included modem definition files are being provided by Novell as a
  101.      service to our many MHS users.  These files have been developed
  102.      internally but have not been through a formal testing procedure.  As
  103.      such, these files will not receive support similar to the files that are
  104.      included with MHS products.

  106.      Novell recommends that you use these files in a test environment
  107.      initially until you are comfortable with their operation.  Thank you for
  108.      using NetWare MHS.
