  9. ABSTRACT:
  10.  
  11. This file explains updates to Novell InForms 4.1 that address
  12. some issues that arise when the application is running under
  13. Windows NT and Windows 3.1.  If you want to update InForms 4.1,
  14. you must have previously installed the application. 
  15.  To apply the patch, you must use a utility called PATCH.EXE
  16. (from Pocket Soft, Inc.), along with the accompanying .RTP files. 
  17. If you are running InForms 4.1 from the network, your network
  18. administrator may need to update the files if you do not have the
  19. rights to do so.

  38. ISSUE: 
  39.  
  40.    Data Links
  41.       *  Under some conditions, read-only database fields were
  42.          written to the database when a write object link was
  43.          updated.
  44.       *  A sorting problem sometimes caused a "Corrupt File,
  45.          Datalinks Lost" error message to be displayed when there
  46.          were hundreds of fields on a valid form.
  47.  
  48.    Data Tables
  49.       *  Text was not always justified correctly when records
  50.          scrolled into view and when they were edited.
  51.       *  Under certain conditions, a GPF occurred when data table
  52.          rows were being printed on attachment pages.
  53.       *  When a memo field was defined within a data table and it
  54.          had enough text to wrap, only the first line of text was
  55.          printed on any attachment pages.
  56.       *  When the primary field was on one page and the data
  57. table
  58.          was on another page, "A primary record must be locked
  59.          before entering the data table" message was displayed
  60.          incorrectly.

  62.    Delrina Form Import
  63.       *  The import incorrectly excluded earlier versions of
  64.          Delrina Forms from being imported (Pre-PerForm Pro
  65. Plus).

  67.    Formulas
  68.       *  Under certain conditions, @DELETEREC() generated an
  69.          "Internal Memory Error" message.
  70.       *  A GPF occurred in Filler if a formula went to two
  71. different
  72.          linked forms.
  73.       *  The @RESETOBJ() formula did not work for table cells.
  74.       *  Under certain conditions, an object's value was cleared
  75.          incorrectly when it called an Independent formula.
  76.       *  "Open" type formulas were not firing on @NEWREC() when
  77.          they were attached to Action Button objects.
  78.       *  The @TEXT() function deleted leading zeros of a decimal
  79.          value (e.g., .03 was changed to .3).
  80.       *  A GPF occurred when opening a form in Filler if a change
  81.          formula referenced a multi-record table column using a
  82.          column name reference instead of a column letter
  83.          reference.

  85.    Installation
  86.       *  The file CTL3DV2.DLL was not being installed. (This file
  87.          is needed for the IDAPI configuration utility.)
  88.       *  On a server or workstation installation, the file
  89.          NWCALLS.DLL was not being installed.
  90.       *  Under certain conditions, a GPF occurred after a server
  91.          installation.

  93.    Lotus Notes
  94.       *  Some Lotus Notes forms were not showing in the list of
  95.          tables when a form was being linked to a Lotus Notes
  96.          database.
  97.       *  Querying a Lotus Notes form did not show records that
  98. were
  99.          entered using Notes.
  100.       *  A form could not be linked to Lotus Notes Views.
  101.  
  102.    Object Appearance
  103.       *  If you turned a table cell line off through the Example
  104.          window, you could not turn it back on.
  105.       *  In certain conditions, copying and pasting an object
  106. changed
  107.          the copied object font to something different from the
  108.          original font.
  109.  
  110.    Query
  111.       *  Query catalogs were incorrectly being read in when
  112.          Data-Only (.DO) forms were opened. Query catalogs are
  113.          not valid in .DO forms.
  114.       *  A record could not be deleted from FoxPro and Clipper
  115.          databases if the data had an embedded apostrophe.
  116.       *  The query parse failed when a query was being performed
  117. on
  118.          a Clipper database with 1,000 fields.
  119.  
  120.    README.IN File
  121.       *  Step 3 in the "ACCESS THE Q+E DRIVERS" section
  122. incorrectly
  123.          stated that you should rename the INDBLQE.DLL file to
  124.          INDBLIB.DLL. The name of the file you need to rename is
  125.          actually INDBLIB.OLD.
  126.  
  127.    Text Tool
  128.       *  Hard returns were not counted in Memo fields, which
  129. allowed
  130.          more characters than expected to be entered.
  131.       *  In some cases, character spacing with bold and italic
  132. fonts
  133.          was different than the spacing for the regular font in
  134.          InForms 1.0b.
  135.       *  A memo field with underline set displayed text
  136. incorrectly
  137.          in relation to the underlines displayed when a printer
  138. was
  139.          selected.
  140.  
  141.    Windows NT
  142.       *  Global spell-checking produced a GPF under Windows NT.
  143.       *  Tabbing to any field that already contained data
  144. produced
  145.          a GPF under Windows NT when Fast Editor was off.

  164. Installation Instructions:
  165.  
  166. To install the updates, you must first find out where your
  167. InForms
  168.  4.1 and PerfectFit directories are. To do so,
  169.  
  170.  1    Start InForms 4.1.
  171.  2    Select About InForms from the Help menu.
  172.  3    Make a note of the path beside Program Release; this is
  173. your InForms 4.1 directory.
  174.  4    Make a note of the path beside Shared DLL Release; this is
  175. your PerfectFit directory.
  176.  5    Exit InForms.
  177.  6    Close all other Novell applications. You cannot apply the
  178. PerfectFit patch while any other Novell applications are running.
  179.  
  180.  After you have identified the location of your InForms 4.1 and
  181. PerfectFit directories,
  182.  
  183.  1    Go to a DOS prompt.
  184.  2    Change to the drive and directory where the update disk
  185. exists (usually A:).
  186.  3    At the DOS prompt, type:
  187.         PATCH INF1.RTP C:\INF41 (replace C:\INF41 with the path
  188. to your InForms 4.1 directory if that directory is in another
  189. location), and wait for the patch to update the         files.
  190.  4    At the DOS prompt, type:
  191.         PATCH INFPF2.RTP C:\OFFICE\SHARED\WPC20 (replace
  192. C:\OFFICE\SHARED\WPC20 with the path to your PerfectFit directory
  193. if that directory is in another location), and wait for the patch
  194. to update the files.
