Tiszantul is a large area in eastern Hungary southwest of the river Tisza. The Count of the area, István Tisza, was the first minister of Hungary in 1913-17. He supported the alliance with Germany and Austria. In 1914 he recommended that Austria-Hungary should not attack Serbia. in 1918 he was assassinated.
