- The use of standardized/widely supported APIs for OSI applications has increased
- over the last couple of years. The most widely used at present are those
- supplied by the X/Open group. As the X/Open APIs are being standardized by the
- IEEE, they will carry a greater weight in the networking community, regardless.
- Many implementors are having problems with interpretation of these
- specifications.
-
-
- CHARTER:
-
- Technical discussion relating to the specification, interpretation,
- implementation, purpose, and use of APIs in the Open Systems/OSI field.
-
- This list aims to put implementors of the APIs in contact with each other, as
- well as the groups which formulate the specifications (X/Open/IEEE at present).
