- Greetings all!
-
- I have been given the task of developing a comprehensive hardware
- evaluation procedure for our company. This procedure should cover
- *everything*, from CPU benchmarking to standards compliance.
- I have no idea where to start with this, so I'm soliciting help
- from the net.
-
- Some specific questions I have are:
-
- 1) Is there an existing suite of programs to test a system for
- POSIX compliance?
-
- 2) Is it possible to get copies of the code used to do the TPC/A
- and TPC/B benchmarks?
-
- 3) Where can I get copies of the code for other benchmarks?
-
-
- And in general, could anyone offer some advice as how to approach
- this task? How do I go about developing a process generic enough
- to evaluate two systems as different as say, an RS/6000 and an NCR
- Enterprise 90? *AND* come up with results that make a valid
- comparison? Are there any books on this topic? Any organizations
- where 'hardware evaluators' hang out?
-
- Please reply by e-mail, if possible.
