  6. I critiqued the cksum manual page for Keith Bostic about a year ago,
  7. suggested they use CRC-32,
  8. and provided a general-purpose cksum program that could
  9. use any polynomial (CRC-32 by default).
  10. I thought it was nicely written and as fast as anything portable can be.
  11. I guess it got dropped on the floor.
