  84. <h1>Complete First-Time Authentication to a Web Resource</h1>
  85. <p class=p>Use the instructions in this topic to create a PIN and authenticate 
  86.  to a web resource that is protected by RSA SecurID. When you attempt to 
  87.  access the resource, an authentication page is displayed.</p>
  88. <p class=Note><span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>Note:</B></span> If your token 
  89.  does not require a PIN, see <a href="browserplugin.htm">Authenticate to 
  90.  a Web Resource After the First Time</a>.</p>
  91. <p class=p>The <span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>Select Token</B></span> field 
  92.  on the authentication page displays your active token (the token that 
  93.  you are currently using or the last token that you imported). If you have 
  94.  more than one token, you can select the one that you want to use from 
  95.  the <span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>Select Token</B></span> list. </p>
  96. <p class=p>You do not need to enter a code in order to authenticate. </p>
  97. <p class="whs3">To complete first-time authentication to 
  98.  a web resource if a PIN is required:</p>

  100.     <li class=p><p>In your web browser, enter the URL of the web page that 
  101.  you need to access.<br>
  102.     The RSA SecurID authentication screen opens with the active token selected.</p></li>
  103.     <li class=p><p>In the <span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>Enter</B></span> 
  104.  <span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>User Name</B></span> field, enter the user 
  105.  name that your administrator assigned.</p></li>
  106.     <li class=p><p>In the <span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>Enter PIN</B></span> 
  107.  field, type <span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>0000</B></span> (four zeros), 
  108.  and click <span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>OK</B></span>. <br>
  109.     You are prompted to create a PIN. </p></li>
  110.     <li class=p><p>Follow the prompts to create and confirm your PIN.<br>
  111.     Enter the PIN in the format your administrator specified. Be sure to 
  112.  memorize your PIN.</p></li>
  113.     <li class=p><p>Click <span style="font-weight: bold;"><B>OK</B></span>.</p></li>
