  7. 31   INT. HARLEM COFFEE SHOP - DAY

  9.     Benny, holding a manila envelope and looking very tired 
  10.     from having worked nonstop for a few days, ENTERS the 
  11.     busy restaurant and goes over to the counter where his 
  12.     girlfriend, CASSIE (Kasidy Yates), is the waitress. 
  13.     And though she's busy, the moment she sees him, she 
  14.     throws him a big smile.
  15.  
  16.                     CASSIE 
  17.             Hey, baby. Have a seat. The 
  18.             usual?
  19.  
  20.                     BENNY 
  21.             How 'bout scrambling the eggs 
  22.             today?
  23.  
  24.                     CASSIE 
  25.             My aren't we feeling adventurous.
  26.  
  27.     He sits down as she pours him a cup of coffee.
  28.  
  29.                     BENNY
  30.                 (holding up the envelope) 
  31.             I just finished the best story 
  32.             I've ever written.

  34.                     CASSIE
  35.                 (sincere) 
  36.             That's great, baby. I got some 
  37.             good news, too.

  39.     Cassie leans forward, placing one of her hands over 
  40.     his. She looks him in the eye and talks with quiet 
  41.     sincerity.

  43.                     CASSIE 
  44.             I talked to Mrs. Jackson last 
  45.             night. She's serious about 
  46.             retiring in the next couple of 
  47.             ears. I asked her about selling 
  48.             this place to us and she said 
  49.             she'd be willing.

  51.     Benny doesn't share her enthusiasm for this idea.
