  11.     Establishing.

  13. 16   INT. MAGAZINE OFFICE
  14.  
  15.     The brain center of Incredible Tales -- a fairly 
  16.     successful science fiction magazine of the time. The 
  17.     walls are lined with blown-up covers of past issues. 
  18.     A series of small cubbyhole offices line the room, with 
  19.     a larger, glass-enclosed office in the back. This 
  20.     belongs to the magazine's editor, Douglas Pabst. In 
  21.     the center of the room is a round table where the 
  22.     writers gather, get their assignments and basically 
  23.     shoot the breeze. At the moment, there are three 
  24.     people at the table:
  25.  
  26.     JULIUS and KAY EATON (Bashir and Kira without her 
  27.     Bajoran nose and earring), a husband and wife writing 
  28.     team, are seated drinking coffee. Julius is a refined, 
  29.     elegantly dressed Englishman wearing an ascot, a 
  30.     cigarette holder clutched in his hand. His wife, Kay, 
  31.     sits perched on a table. She's a no-nonsense 
  32.     attractive woman, with a cutting sense of humor.
  33.  
  34.     Also present is HERBERT ROSSOFF (Quark without makeup), 
  35.     as opinionated and feisty a gent that ever set pen to 
  36.     paper. He's also the best writer of the group and he 
  37.     knows it.
  38.  
  39.     CLOSE ON Julius and Kay at the table. Kay is carefully 
  40.     spooning in two tablespoons of a granulated mixture 
  41.     into a glass pitcher of water. She stirs the mixture 
  42.     and the water turns a tannish brown.
  43.  
  44.                     KAY 
  45.             Voila. A pitcher of plain water 
  46.             instantly becomes a pitcher of ice 
  47.             tea.
  48.  
  49.                     JULIUS 
  50.                 (impressed)
