  2.     DEEP SPACE NINE: "The Darkness... " - REV. 11/01/96 - ACT FOUR   47.

  4. 44   INT. SILARAN'S HOUSE (OPTICAL)
  5.  
  6.     Kira MATERIALIZES in the middle of a dark living area 
  7.     in a home fashioned out of a large cargo container. 
  8.     There's a window through which we can see only dust 
  9.     perpetually whipping up against the container by the 
  10.     faintly howling wind outside. The cargo container is 
  11.     lined with shelves which are filled with devices and 
  12.     gadgets of every description. Computer equipment and 
  13.     consoles are littered through the room and there's a
  14.     work table against one wall. The comfort level here is
  15.     minimal. Kira looks around cautiously, her phaser in 
  16.     one hand and a tricorder in the other.
  17.  
  18.     She scans the room for a moment. Keeping one eye out 
  19.     for anything that moves, she sets the tricorder down 
  20.     and begins working one of the computers in the room.
  21.  
  22.     Suddenly a large N.D. Cardassian jumps out of the 
  23.     shadows. Kira's instincts are faster, however, and she 
  24.     whirls and FIRES her phaser.
  25.  
  26.     But the phaser beam GOES RIGHT THROUGH him and his 
  27.     image FLICKERS for a moment -- he's a hologram!
  28.  
  29.     Kira reacts, realizes just too late what happened and 
  30.     then she's HIT by another PHASER SHOT from o.s. She 
  31.     slumps unconscious.
  32.  
  33.     As Kira lies on the floor, the form of another 
  34.     Cardassian steps into view and looms ominously over her 
  35.     helpless form.
  36.  
  37.                                     CUT TO:
  38.  
  39. 45   INT. SILARAN'S HOUSE (OPTICAL)
  40.  
  41.     A few minutes later. Kira is being eased back into a
  42.     chair in the middle of the room by someone o.s. (She's
  43.     still wearing her uniform). The chair is lit by a pool
  44.     of light in the otherwise pitch black room. Once she's
  45.     in place, a RESTRAINING FIELD FLASHES ON over her body.
  46.     The field will prevent her from moving anything below
  47.     the neck.
  48.  
  49.     A Cardassian HAND comes into frame and applies a hypo 
  50.     to her throat. In response, Kira slowly comes awake... 
  51.     it takes a moment to reorient herself. She tries to 
  52.     move, but can't. After a beat, she suddenly hears the 
  53.     VOICE of Silaran somewhere in the darkened room.
