  8.                 (beat) 
  9.             Maybe I need more time... maybe if 
  10.             I go back to Trill for a while... 
  11.             think it over... I could always 
  12.             come back later...

  14.     Dax stands up and moves to her... takes Lenara's face 
  15.     in her hands and looks into her eyes.
  16.  
  17.                     DAX
  18.                 (emotional) 
  19.             I wish I could believe that. But 
  20.             ultimately, it comes down to 
  21.             this... if you feel about me the 
  22.             way I feel about you... you won't 
  23.             get on that transport tomorrow. 
  24.             And if you do leave... I think we 
  25.             both know you're never coming 
  26.             back.

  28.     There's a moment as they look into each others eyes... 
  29.     the emotion of the moment almost too much for either of 
  30.     them to bear... then Dax turns and EXITS. OFF Lenara's 
  31.     face...

  33.                                     CUT TO:

  35. 57   EXT. SPACE - DEEP SPACE NINE (OPTICAL)

  37.     The Trill transport ship is docked at the station 
  38.     again.
  39.  
  40. 58   INT. PROMENADE - SECOND LEVEL
  41.  
  42.     Dax is standing by the railing, looking down at the 
  43.     airlock on the first level, with a tense look on her 
  44.     face. She's holding one of the EARRINGS Lenara gave 
  45.     her earlier. She toys with it as she waits. After a 
  46.     few beats, Worf, Bejal and Pren walk down the Promenade 
  47.     heading toward the airlock. The two scientists are 
  48.     carrying their bags. Worf OPENS the airlock doors and 
  49.     says good-bye to the scientists.
  50.  
  51.      Dax looks around the Promenade, hoping that Lenara 
  52.     won't show up... and for a brief time it looks like she 
  53.     won't. But then Lenara comes down the Promenade 
  54.     carrying her bag and Dax's heart sinks. Lenara goes to 
  55.     the airlock just as Bejal and Pren EXIT. Lenara 
  56.     exchanges goodbyes with Worf... then hesitates just 
  57.     before leaving.
