  7.             Everyone's trying to... look out 
  8.             for us. Protect us from 
  9.             ourselves. But in the end, all 
  10.             that matters is how we feel... and 
  11.             what we do about it. Because 
  12.             either way, we're the ones who 
  13.             have to live with the 
  14.             consequences.

  16.     Lenara gets up, moves around the room for a moment, 
  17.     struggling with her conflicting feelings.

  19.                     LENARA 
  20.             That's the tricky part though, 
  21.             isn't it? Living with the 
  22.             consequences.

  24.     There's a long tense beat as Lenara struggles... she's 
  25.     approaching the precipice and the view from here is 
  26.     frightening.

  28.                     LENARA 
  29.             When you're not around, it's like 
  30.             part of me is missing. I want to 
  31.             be with you more than anything...
  32.                 (difficult)
  33.             But I don't think I can do this...

  35.     Dax closes her eyes... tries to rein in the crushing 
  36.     feeling that fills her.

  38.                     LENARA 
  39.             I'm not like you, Dax... I don't 
  40.             have a little Curzon inside me 
  41.             telling me to be impulsive... to 
  42.             ignore the rules... give up 
  43.             everything I've worked for...
  44.  
  45.                     DAX
  46.                 (choked up) 
  47.             Can you really walk away from 
  48.             me... from us? After all this 
  49.             time we're back together. Don't 
  50.             throw that away.

  52.     Lenara desperately hunts for something to grasp onto, 
  53.     some half-way measure that will keep her from making 
  54.     this choice.
