  6.     SISKO is waiting as Dax ENTERS. He's serious, a man 
  7.     about to deliver some potentially disturbing news.

  9.                     SISKO
  10.             Have a seat.
  11.  
  12.     Dax sits and Sisko moves to sit on the edge of the desk 
  13.     close to her.
  14.  
  15.                     SISKO
  16.                 (continuing) 
  17.             A Trill science team is on its way 
  18.             to the station. They're coming to 
  19.             conduct field tests on an 
  20.             experimental technique for 
  21.             creating artificial wormholes.
  22.  
  23.                     DAX 
  24.             Sounds interesting.
  25.  
  26.                     SISKO
  27.             It's an important project and I've 
  28.             agreed to let them use the Defiant 
  29.             for their experiments.
  30.                 (beat) 
  31.             But I thought you should know that 
  32.             the leader of the Trill science 
  33.             team... is Doctor Lenara Kahn.
  34.  
  35.     Dax sits back in her chair and we can see that she's 
  36.     caught completely off-guard. She's shocked and can't 
  37.     quite decide exactly how she feels at this moment, but 
  38.     tries to maintain her usual calm.
  39.  
  40.                     DAX
  41.             Kahn? Lenara... Kahn?
  42.  
  43.                     SISKO 
  44.             That's right.
  45.                 (gently) 
  46.             You have about three months worth 
  47.             of leave accumulated. Why don't 
  48.             you take some of it? We can get 
  49.             along without you for a while.
  50.  
  51.                     DAX
  52.                 (wry) 
  53.             Am I that dispensable around here?
  54.  
  55.                     SISKO
  56.                 (joking) 
  57.             We won't even notice you're gone.
  58.  
  59.     Dax smiles a little, but lets out a long breath and 
  60.     makes her decision.
