- CHANGING DEFAULTS (F8 - F2)
-
- Most of the options which you can set in PC-TYPE+ can be modified
- directly from inside the program by using the MODIFY DEFAULTS panel.
- You may get to this panel by pressing F8 and then F2. These options
- are listed below in this file.
-
- Most of these defaults become immediately active in the current
- session. Upon exiting the MODIFY DEFAULTS panel you have the option
- to save all of these defaults either to a file on disk where you can
- recall them in another session, or you may make the changes permanent
- within PC-TYPE+ itself so they will be automatically set every time
- you need to use PC-TYPE+.
-
- There are a few other defaults which may also be saved but which are
- not necessarily set within the MODIFY DEFAULTS panel. They will be
- noted below.
-
- Press the PgDn Key
-
- MOVING AROUND IN THE MODIFY DEFAULTS PANEL
-
-
- When you press F8 and then F2, you will see the screen filled with
- numerous subject fields. To make modifications to specific data,
- press the TAB key to move the field select marker to the desired field
- and then press F10. By holding down the shift key and pressing the
- TAB key you can move the field select marker in the reverse direction.
-
- After pressing F10, you will be presented with a new screen which
- deals in detail with the subject you selected. Make your
- modifications as desired on this panel and return to the MODIFY
- DEFAULTS panel. You can return to the MODIFY DEFAULTS panel by
- pressing either the Esc key or F10. Normally, by pressing F10, the
- modifications you have made will become effective and by pressing the
- Esc Key, they will be ignored.

- EXITING THE MODIFY DEFAULTS PANEL
-
- After returning to the MODIFY DEFAULTS panel from a detail sub-panel,
- you return to your text by pressing the Esc key.
-
- When you press the Esc key, you will be asked if you want to Save the
- defaults. If you answer by pressing the 'N' key, you will return
- immediately to the text. THE MODIFICATIONS YOU MADE WILL BE EFFECTIVE
- during the current editing session EVEN IF YOU PRESS the N key. You
- DO NOT HAVE TO SAVE your modifications.
-
- If you press the 'Y' key you will be asked additional questions about
- what and where you want to save. By pressing the Esc key at any time
- in this question and answer session you will be returned to the text
- currently being edited and the changes made will take effect. (See

- PRINTER UNIQUE DATA DEFAULTS

- * TRANSLATION TABLE DATA
- * PRINTER ESCAPE CODES and TEXT MARKER ATTRIBUTES
-
- The Translation Table Data will translate a text character to a
- different character when sent to the printer. (See the HELP file
- CHR_XLTN).
-
- The Printer Escape Codes may be defined here and the Text Marker
- colors described. (See ESC_CODE and BOLD_ETC).
-
- These two sets of data comprise the Printer subset of the total list
- of defaults and may be saved separately if desired. This permits you
- to keep a special Printer default file which can be easily read into
- PC-TYPE+. This facilitates moving from one printer to another without
- having to reset all the printer unique functions over and over.
