  2.                                  NAME COMMAND

  4.     With the cursor on the Command Line, type the instruction:
  5.  
  6.                                  NAME newname
  7.  
  8.     and press the Enter key.  When you do this, you will see that the name
  9.     at the top of the screen has been changed.  Whenever you save a file
  10.     in which you changed the name, the modified name will be presented.
  11.  
  12.     The NAME command will accept a full file specification including drive
  13.     and path.  However, the filespec is not fully tested until you try to
  14.     save the file with the new name.
  15.  
  16.     The NAME command does not change the name of any files on disk - only
  17.     the reference to the current file in memory is changed.
