- NAME COMMAND
-
- With the cursor on the Command Line, type the instruction:
-
- NAME newname
-
- and press the Enter key. When you do this, you will see that the name
- at the top of the screen has been changed. Whenever you save a file
- in which you changed the name, the modified name will be presented.
-
- The NAME command will accept a full file specification including drive
- and path. However, the filespec is not fully tested until you try to
- save the file with the new name.
-
- The NAME command does not change the name of any files on disk - only
- the reference to the current file in memory is changed.
