- ALIGNING A COLUMN ON A CHARACTER

- In order to align on a character, you must >1.23456
- first mark the block of information to be 12.3456
- aligned. Move the cursor to the right of 123.456
- the '>' character and press CtrlB. Do the 1234.56
- same just left of the '<' character. You 12345.6
- have now marked the area of interest. Now 123456. <
- hold down the Alt key and press 'A'. Using ^
- the right arrow key, move the cursor in the field to the right until
- it is just above the '^' character. Now press the '.' key and press
- Enter.

- You requested alignment of the numbers on the decimal point at the
- specified location merely by entering the desired character at the
- desired location in the field. If the character did not exist in
- the field, that line would have been ignored.

- Press the PgDn Key ...

- If you do not remember that Alt A is the key used for alignment, you
- can press F7 (Block Functions), and from the small menu you can press
- either F7 again, or AltA.

- If there is insufficient room in the > 1.23456
- blocked area to shift the string of 12.3456
- text to the desired position, PC-TYPE+ 123.456
- will shift it as far as it can, and 1234.56
- then stop. Mark the area to the 12345.6
- right with CtrlB's as you did above. 123456. <
- ^
- This time press F7 - then F7 again. Now move the cursor over the '^'
- character, (it's easiest to press Ctrl right arrow and then back up
- inside the field) enter a period again and press Enter. Notice that
- the top two numbers are not lined up since there was not enough room
- in the block defined. Remember to leave enough room when marking your
- blocks.
