Hinged Doors are covered by the same Canadian General Standards Board edge seal standard and the CSA A453 standard for thermal performance. The CGSB 82.5 standard covers other aspects of the hinged door system.
The thermal performance of the door core material is often expressed in R value, but this only refers to the centre of the door slab. ER is used to express the thermal performance of the entire door system.
