  12. After you use any version of Symantec Norton Speed Disk prior to
  13. version 7.0 on a compressed DoubleSpace drive, the DBLSPACE /CHKDSK
  14. command may report a very large number of lost allocation units.
  15.  
  16. This occurs when you have set the option to Clear Unused Disk Space
  17. and then perform a full optimization.

  19. Solution

  22. To correct this problem, type "dblspace /chkdsk /f" (without the
  23. quotation marks) at the MS-DOS command prompt and press ENTER.

  25. Note: The Compress program from PCTools versions 5.5 and 6.0 may also
  26. cause the above problem if the Clear Unused Disk Space option is set
  27. when you perform a full optimization.
