Insert Manager VER 1.2 for use with AutoCad VER 2.6 or greater
and PC/MS-DOS VER 3.1 or greater
Here's how you get started:
If your computer is powered up and you are currently
using the ACAD drawing editor you're ready. If not then
you can get ready in just a few seconds with:
C:\ >cd \acad <enter>
C:\ACAD >acad <enter>
Remove the enclosed diskette from it's sleeve, insert
it in drive A: and at the ACAD Command: prompt type
the following:
SCRIPT <enter>
A:IM <enter>
You will see two lisp programs being loaded and then
a message will be displayed on your graphics screen.
If you have trouble loading the programs because of:
error:insufficient node space
you will have to exit to DOS and increase your preset
values for lispheap and lispstack, perhaps like this:
C:\ACAD >set lispheap=30000 <enter>
C:\ACAD >set lispstack=15000 <enter>
then start again with:
C:\ACAD >acad <enter>
Next, if you don't already have one, you'll need to get a
hardcopy of your WBLOCK file names and directory(s), or
you may choose to use the Insert Manager's interactive
directory utility (?).
At the ACAD Command: prompt issue the command:
IMDEFINE
Respond to the prompts and drag scale each WBLOCK so
that it fits into the area designated for it. When you're
finished Insert Manager will create a slide file with the
name you have previously defined. Now you can destroy
that hardcopy list of file names and directory(s), because
Insert Manager will show you all of your WBLOCKS and let
you choose the one(s) you want to insert, quickly, without
disturbing your drawing. Just issue the command:
IMINSERT
You'll see why it's efficient to use Insert Manager
from CADD Masters.
