  2.                            IMPORTANT NOTICE
  3.                        ************************
  4.              Before running LineDrive for the first time, make sure that 
  5.         you are familiar with the contents of this file.
  6.  
  7.              LineDrive  requires the following  minumum  requirements:
  8.              
  9.              720 KB OF FREE DISK SPACE. This can be free space on
  10.         a  hard disk, two 360 kb 5.25 inch disk  drives,  1 
  11.         3.5 inch disk drive, or one 1.2 meg or one 1.44 meg 
  12.         disk drive.
  13.  
  14.              A COLOR MONITOR. This can be CGA, EGA or VGA.
  15.  
  16.              YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS IN THE CONFIG.SYS
  17.         FILE ON YOUR BOOT DISK OR THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF YOUR HARD DISK:
  18.                       FILES = 10
  19.                       BUFFERS = 25
  20.              These are minumum requirements. If the number of Files and 
  21.         Buffers specified in your config.sys exceeds these numbers that's 
  22.         fine. If you don't have enough files it is a simple procedure to 
  23.         add the above statements to your CONFIG.SYS file. Simply load your
  24.         current CONFIG.SYS file (found in the root directory of your
  25.         hard disk or boot-up diskette) into your favorite word
  26.         processor and add the above lines. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE FILE
  27.         IN THE ASCII FORMAT (there will instructions on saving an
  28.         ASCII file in your word processor). DOS 5 users can use the
  29.         EDIT program that came with DOS 5. EDIT automatically saves
  30.         in the ASCII format.
  31.  
  32.              We have recently added a graphic opening screen to LineDrive.
  33.         We have tested this screen on VGA, Super VGA, and CGA screens and
  34.         found it to be compatible with all of them. If you get an ERROR 5
  35.         on starting the program it may be that this screen is not compatible
  36.         with your system. If this occurs you may simply remove the title
  37.         screen (type "del title.scn) from your disk/directory to solve the 
  38.         problem.

  40.              LineDrive Fantasy Baseball (hereafter referred to as LineDrive) 
  41.         is copyrighted software - it is not now and never has been in the
  42.         public domain.
  43.              Every release of LineDrive comes in two versions, the ShareWare 
  44.         or Evaluation Version and the Registered Version.
  45.              The ShareWare Version of LineDrive is intended for evaluation 
  46.         purposes. The ShareWare Version is fully enabled so that all areas 
  47.         of the program may be tested. Registered owners get laser printed
  48.         documentation and a free copy of the program LineDrive General
  49.         Manager which makes player trades and allows you to sign free agents.

  51.              Before running LineDrive make sure that the following files are 
  52.         in the drive/directory that you will start the program from:
  53.              LD.exe   (LineDrive the program)
  54.              LD.hlp   (the help file)
  55.              LD.doc   (the manual)
  56.              Title.scn (the opening graphics screen)
  57.              GM.EXE (registered version only - the General Manager's program)
  58.              
  59.             The ShareWare Version of LineDrive may be copied and distributed 
  60.    to others subject to the following conditions:
  61.             No charge may be made for LineDrive itself. Any fees collected for
  62.       the sale of diskettes containing LineDrive must be clearly stated as
  63.       being for materials and/or handling charges. The cost of the disk
  64.       containing LineDrive may not exceed $15.00.
  65.            All files included on the original distribution disk must be included
  66.       when the program is distributed or "uploaded" to a "bulletin board".
  67.       These files are:
  68.              LD.exe   
  69.              LD.hlp   
  70.              LD.doc   
  71.              Title.scn 
  72.              Readme.1st 
  73.            McS Custom Software reserves the right to prohibit certain
  74.       individuals or companies form distributing LineDrive. If we chose to
  75.       excercise this right the individuals or companies will be notified by
  76.       certified letter.

  79.    Before installing this or ANY new software, you should back up any
  80.    valuable data on your computer system. LineDrive has been thoroughly
  81.    tested on different systems and is believed to be reliable and
  82.    non-harmful. However, no one can ever be totally sure of the effect
  83.    a program will have on every computer. You as the user are completely
  84.    responsible for determining the fitness or usability of LineDrive
  85.    Fantasy Baseball. Maranatha Custom Software will not be liable for
  86.    damages of any kind, including but not limited to lost sales or profits
  87.    arising from any failure of this package to perform as expected.

  89.                      ******* Registering LineDrive ******
  90.    LineDrive's registration price is $35.00. Registered users get the latest
  91.    release of the registered version of LineDrive. In addition you will   
  92.    receive the lastest version of the LineDrive GENERAL MANAGER'S DISK which
  93.    allows you to trade players or sign free agents. You will also be entitled 
  94.    to any upgrades of LineDrive without charge other than disk and postage
  95.    costs. MCS feels a real obligation to provide top flight service to our
  96.    registered users. If you have a need for an enhancement to LineDrive please
  97.    let us know. We are very responsive to our customers and we feel that the
  98.    way to make LineDrive the best program possible is to listen to the wishes
  99.    of our users.
