  5. Here are some hints on how to solve some of the trickier
  6. levels in the shareware version of Epic's HeartLight puzzle
  7. game.
  8.  
  9. This assumes that you've already figured out the basics of
  10. playing the game and are familiar with the operation of the
  11. rocks, grenades, and baloons.
  12.  
  13.  
  14. LEVEL 3
  15. -------
  16.  
  17. Clear a path through the grass so the grenade can be
  18. pushed around and finally dropped down next to the
  19. left-hand side of the room at the bottom of the screen.
  20. The grenade will blow a hole in the side of the room
  21. so you can get to the exit.
  22.  
  23. The diagram below shows where the grass must be cleared.

  46. LEVEL 9

  49. This is a dexterity test.  You must collect all the hearts
  50. and reach the exit before the detonating chain of grenades
  51. blows up the exit.

  54. LEVEL 10
  55. --------

  57. Clear away enough grass so you can drop the two rocks that
  58. are above the left-hand room into the space between the two
  59. rooms.  These rocks should be dropped right on top of the
  60. rock that is already there between the two rooms.
  61.  
  62. Now push the grenade from the upper-right area of the screen
  63. across the top of the right-hand room and drop it into the
  64. space between the two rooms (where you just put the other
  65. two rocks).  The grenade will blow holes into both rooms so
  66. you can get the heart out of the left room and eventually
  67. reach the exit in the right room (after you've collected all
  68. the other hearts on the level).

  71. LEVEL 11

  74. After the two moving rocks finish moving, push the rock at
  75. the lower-left corner of the screen as far to the left as it
  76. will go.
  77.  
  78. Remove the grass that is blocking the left-hand doorway that
  79. leads up to the second floor of the pyramid.  Quickly move
  80. back down and to the right of the doorway so that the rock
  81. that falls through the doorway is to your left when it hits
  82. the floor.  After the rock falls, push it as far left as it
  83. will go.

  85. Do the same thing with the right-hand doorway that leads up
  86. to the second floor of the pyramid, and also push this rock
  87. as far left as it will go after it falls.
  88.  
  89. Now, run up to the top of the pyramid and then let the
  90. grenade fall.  You should now be able to grab the heart and
  91. get to the exit.

  94. LEVEL 13
  95. --------

  97. You need to pile up enough rocks at the bottom center of the
  98. screen to make a bridge between the two halves of the level.
  99. Then clear out most of the grass so you can drop the grenade
  100. from the upper left of the screen onto some grass down next
  101. to where you've built your bridge.  Then slide the grenade
  102. across the bridge and drop it right next to the bottommost
  103. rock of the diagonal formation of rocks that's blocking the
  104. exit.  This is easier said than done.

  107. LEVEL 17

  110. There are lots of grenades on this level, but you only need
  111. to be concerned about five of them.  At the beginning, they
  112. are located like so:

  122. You need to move them so they are arranged like so:

  132. Then, quickly remove the grass between grenade number 1 and
  133. grenade number 2.  Grenade number 1 will fall, causing
  134. grenades 2, 3, 4 and 5 to detonate.  When grenade 5
  135. detonates, it will blow a hole in the "ceiling" so you can
  136. go through and get the hearts at the top of the screen.

  139. LEVEL 19
  140. --------
  141.  
  142. Remove the entire bottommost row of grass on the screen.  Be
  143. careful not to let any hearts fall down to the bottom of the
  144. screen and to not let the baloon move while you are on your
  145. way down there to remove the grass.
  146.  
  147. Now, remove the peice of grass just to the right of the
  148. baloon.  Push the baloon over one space to the right.
  149.  
  150. Now, go back and clear a path so the left-hand heart
  151. falls down and lands on the grass right above the baloon.
  152.  
  153. Also clear a path so the right-hand heart falls down
  154. on top of the left-hand heart.
  155.  
  156. You should now have something like this at the bottom
  157. of your screen:

  174. Remove the two peices of grass immediately to your right
  175. (see diagram above), so that the hearts can fall down on top
  176. of the baloon.  Now, QUICKLY move to the bottom of the
  177. screen and push the baloon to the right as soon as the
  178. weight of the hearts pushes the baloon to the bottom row of
  179. the screen.
  180.  
  181. If everything has been arranged properly, you should now be
  182. able to push the baloon all the way across the bottom of the
  183. screen until it floats up into the right-hand room.
  184.  
  185. Push the baloon around so it is under the rock.  Remove the
  186. grass between the baloon and the rock, and let the baloon
  187. push the rock up.  Then push the rock to the left so it
  188. falls down and detonates the big pile of grenades.
  189.  
  190. You should now be able to go back and collect the two hearts
  191. and then make for the exit.

  194. LEVEL 20
