  3. Q) What is AOE?

  5. A)Age of Empires is the latest Real Time Strategy game from Microsoft
  6. developed by Ensemble Studios.

  8. Q)AOE looks like a Rip-off of Warcraft II is this true?
  9.  
  10. A)While the Real Time Genre goes back to Dune II, I would not call AOE
  11. a rip-off of Warcraft II with better graphics. That's like saying
  12. Warcraft II is a rip-off on Dune II. The RTS games are Genres, while
  13. gameplay is similar their attributes are distinct.

  15. Q)Why should I buy AOE when Starcraft is coming out in December?
  16.  
  17. A) Well if your a diehard RTS fan than I suggest you pick it up, however,
  18. if you disliked Red-Alert , Total Annihilation and Civ, but loved the
  19. Warcraft series, then you should wait for Starcraft. If you like controlling
  20. ancient empires in battle and developing new technologies then AOE is for
  21. you.

  23. Q) I don't like the midi music and the fact that there is no Intro scenes
  24. in the trial version, is this what I should expect in the full?

  26. A)Not at all, there is full CD red-book audio during the game along with
  27. great intro battles scenes bundled into the full.

  29. Q) Is AOE one of those complicated strategy games?

  31. A) Not at all, the gameplay is very user friendly. It has the ease of
  32. Warcraft, yet enough depth for the expert gamer.

  34. Q) I liked Civilization but disliked Warcraft, will I like AOE?

  36. A) I would say yes. Since AOE has the best aspects of CIV and is set in
  37. a realistic environment as opposed to the Fantasy Realm of the Warcraft
  38. series, this game would probably meet your interests.

  40. Q) What is the MS gaming Zone?

  42. A) The Microsoft Gaming Zone is a place to play AOE free over the Internet.
  43. All you need is a trial or registered version, Internet connection, and MSIE
  44. 3.0 and above browsers. To enter the zone goto www.zone.com

  46. Q) I hate RTS games but I like the idea of playing Ancient empires, could
  47. this be a game I could enjoy?

  49. A) You might want to give AOE a try. Download the trial version.

  51. Q) How come Rome isn't one of the Empires you can play?

  53. A) The Roman Empire was set off in a different time period, the second and
  54. third centuries AD. AOE's time period is in the fifth and fourth centuries
  55. BC. Besides, Rome would be way too powerful and you wouldn't get to play cool
  56. empires like the Egyptians, Greeks, Shang, and Phoenician.
