- This is the latest Windows 9X update for the Pure3D/Pure3D LX by Canopus Corporation.

- All necessary files are included with this update in order to complete
- the installation. For any problems or questions please refer to section
- 4.0, Reporting Problems.

- ******* 2.0 Installation Instructions *******

- To install this driver update, run the self-extracting EXE program and
- follow its directions. The Setup program will overwrite your existing
- Pure3D/Pure3D LX drivers.

- Please be sure to remove any non-Canopus 3Dfx drivers from your system.
-

- ******* 3.0 What's New *******
-
- This driver update includes both Quick Control and the Application Launcher. Both tools previous
- available only on the Pure3D II are now available on the Pure3D/Pure3D LX. We also made new fixes
- for people having system locks during boot.

- Below are Enhancements and Fixes made since the 1.60 driver release. If you have a bug to report and
- it's not reported as fixed or known in this document then refer to section 4.0 for Reporting Problems.

- ******* 3.1 Enhancements *******

- 1. Added the new Application Launcher and Quick Control utilities. See the Pure3D/Pure3D LX User
- Manual help file for details of operation.

- 2. Added Japanese support for the Pure3D display tab.

- ******* 3.2 Fixes *******
-
- 1. Umax scanner software will work properly now.
-
- 2. The refresh rate no longer resets after a system restart.
-
- 3. The Memory Clock is now applied to both Glide and Direct 3D games.
-
- 4. Windows protection faults caused by the 1.60 drivers are now fixed.
-
- 5. H3D support has been included.

- 1. There is no support for TV control in Quick Control. This is a limitation of the hardware and will not be
- added.

- 2. The Application Launcher when in Autohide mode causes the task bar bubble help to not function and
- prohibits the Windows screen saver from activating.

- If you find that you are having problems with your Pure3D or Pure3D LX
- that you cannot fix please follow the steps below:

- * Try to identify where the problem is.
- (e.g., Application, Installation, Hardware)

- * Try to identify what kind of problem you have.
- (e.g., System Hang, General Protection Fault, Resource Conflict)
-
- * Try to obtain any information related to the problem.
-
- * If it is a resource conflict, what is the conflict.
- (e.g., IRQ, I/O Address)

- * If there is a General Protection Fault what module did it occur in
- and at what address.
- (e.g., General Protection Fault in Pure3D.DRV @ 1008:A053)

- To play older DOS Glide games run P3D2UTIL.EXE prior to launching the game.
- The new P3D2UTIL.EXE can be found in the directory where Pure3D II was installed.

- 2. Added Japanese support to the Pure3D II display tab.

- 1. TV position is now saved for both Glide and Direct 3D.

- 2. The Application Launcher correctly sets the TV state.

- 3. Fixed system hangs with some Direct 3D games.

- 1. Not all 3Dfx games will run on Voodoo2 boards. Contact the game company if you are unsure.

- 2. When the Application Launcher is in Autohide mode the Windows 95 screen saver and bubble help

- 3. Motoracer hanges with the 2.17 Direct 3D drivers.
