  6. Introduction:
  7.  
  8. This collection of utilities performs some useful tasks for users of
  9. Windows 3.x, Windows 95 and Windows NT.
  10.  
  11. The utilities have been released as Shareware - you are welcome to try
  12. them out free of charge for a period of 30 days. If you find them useful
  13. please pay the author as detailed below otherwise you are required to
  14. delete them from your PC. Your support will make it possible to produce
  15. updates and additional Windows applications.
  16.  
  17. You are encouraged to pass these utilities on to friends and colleagues
  18. but please keep them in their original format and with all files included
  19. in the package.

  22. Installation:
  23.  
  24. Copy all of the files into any folder (eg C:\WINUTILS). To make life
  25. easier for you, the folder should be included in your PATH.
  26.  
  27. You can then have shortcuts to the utilities at your fingertips
  28. (eg on the Windows 95 desktop).

  31. The Utilities:
  32.  
  33. CLOSEALL - closes all applications and windows
  34. CLOSEWIN - closes all Win95 explorer windows and folders
  35. DEFPRINT - Changes the default printer
  36. ENDSHARE - bypasses the Sharing Dialog when closing down Win95
  37. ENDWIN   - exits from Windows
  38. EXIT2DOS - exits Win95 to the DOS prompt
  39. INIEDIT  - Opens the WINUTILS.INI file in notepad for editing
  40. MINALL   - minimises all applications and windows
  41. NPAD     - allows the notepad default fonts, margins and
  42.            filetype to be changed
  43. PLAYSND  - plays a single .WAV file
  44. REGISTER - registers the Windows Utilities
  45. RESTWIN  - restarts windows without rebooting
  46. RUNQUIT  - runs a program and then exits from Windows
  47. RUNSND   - allows a different sound to be associated with
  48.            each and every application
  49. SHUTDOWN - runs any number of cleanup tasks before closing
  50.            down Win95
  51. SHUTOPTN - changes the default Windows 95 Shutdown Option
  52.        (eg to Restart the PC)
  53. STARTSND - plays a different sound at user specified times
  54.            (eg at startup)
  55. TIMEPROG - runs a program for a specified time (eg to limit
  56.        the use of games)
  57. WINTIME  - windows scheduler that runs programs or send messages
  58.            at specified times
  59. WPAD     - allows the wordpad default fonts, margins and
  60.            filetype to be changed
